Categorise your Products to better understand your Sales

Reporting Groups in Oolio refer to categories you can assign to your Products, to better understand your Sales in your Sales Reports.

CREATE REPORTING GROUPS

Depending on your business needs, Reporting Groups can be as simple as grouping your: Food & Beverages under those names.

Or more thorough such as categorising: Starters, Mains, Desserts, Specials, Non-Alcoholic Drinks, Coffees, Alcohol, …

For our business model example, we are going to create 4 Reporting Groups:

  • Coffees / Teas

  • Food

  • Drinks

  • Retail

  1. In your Back Office => Settings => Other => Reporting Groups

  2. Type the name of your Reporting Groups => SAVE


ASSIGN REPORTING GROUPS TO PRODUCTS

Now that our Groups are Created, let's Assign them to our Products

There are 2 ways:

1. Assign to a single Product:

  1. In your Back Office => Products => Products => Select a Category OR Search for a Product

  2. Edit that Product using the Pen Icon:

  1. In ' General ' => Select the Reporting Group needed for that Product from the dropdown => SAVE:


2. Bulk Assign to a several Products:

  1. In your Back Office => Products => Products => Select a Category

  2. Tick All the Products belonging to the same Reporting Groups

    OR:

3. Tick the Checkbox next to ' Product Name ' to select all the Products from that category:

4. OR just select the Products you would like to apply the same Reporting Group to.

5. Click on ' Options ' ( right end )

( the amount of Products selected will show between brackets )

6. Select: ' Assign Reporting Groups ' :

7. Select the Reporting Groups wanted and click on ' Assign reporting group to products '

8. Repeat for all your Categories / Products


IN YOUR REPORTS

  1. In your Back Office => Reports => Shift Summary => Select a Date / Shift

2. On the bottom of your Shift Summary you can see: ' Product Type Summary ' with your new Reporting Groups & the amount of sales in their respective categories

⚠️ Your Past ' Shift Summaries ' will not have the Reporting Groups, only the ones onward.

⚠️ If no ' Reporting Groups ' are assigned to a Product: you Products will be reported as

' Others '
