Learn how to set new Taxes & apply them to Products

ADDING & MANAGING TAXES

In Oolio, we have created the ' GST Tax ' & a ' Tax Free ' option,

but depending on your Business Type, you might need more:

In This Article:


Adding A Tax

  1. In your Back Office => Settings => Taxes:

2. Next, on the “Taxes” screen, hit the “Create” button under the "Taxes" section to begin adding a new tax.

3. On the “Add A New Tax” form, key in values for the following fields:

  • Tax Name: The name of the tax

  • Tax code: The tax’s abbreviation

  • Tax Rate: The percentage of the tax

4. After that, click on the “Create Tax” button to finish creating the new tax. Otherwise, click on the “X” button to exit the form.


Removing A Tax

To remove a tax, simply click on the “Remove Tax” button of the task you want to be deleted from the list.

⚠️ If the ' Trash Icon ' is grey: you won't be able to remove that Tax Option

After you have finished creating or editing a tax, click on the “Save” button to confirm all changes.


Adding A Tax Group

  1. In your Back Office => Settings => Taxes:

2. Next, on the “Taxes” screen, click on the “Taxes” tab, then hit the “Create” button under the “Tax Group” section to begin adding a new tax group.

On the “Add Tax Group” form, key in values for the following fields:

  • Group Name: The name of the tax group

  • Group Tax code: The tax group’s abbreviation

  • Select Taxes: click on this field and select your desired taxes from the list

  • Group Taxes Rate: The total amount of percentage of all taxes belonging to the group

After that, click on the “Add Tax Group” button to finish creating the new tax. Otherwise, click on the “X” button to exit the form.


Removing A Tax Group

To remove a tax group, simply click on the “Remove Tax Group” button of the task you want to be deleted from the list.

After you have finished creating or editing a tax group, click on the “Save” button to confirm all changes.


Adding Taxes to your Products

a. To a Single Product:

Now that your Taxes are created / updated: it's time to apply them directly to your Products

  1. In your Back Office => Products => Products => Select a Category or Search for a Product

  2. Edit that Product using the ' Pen Icon '

3. Under the ' Pricing ' section: You can now change the ' Cost Tax ' & ' Selling Tax ' to your preferred one => SAVE

4. ⚠️ If you untick: ' Included Tax In Display Price ' your Taxes will be added to your Products instead of including it,

For example:

  • INCLUDED: ' Banana Bread ' = $10 ( Incl. 10% GST: $ 0.91 )

  • EXCLUDED: ' Banana Bread ' = $11 ( Adds the 10% GST: $ 1 )
